Atelier North
Giving an established business a clearer point of view and a more useful identity system.

Atelier North had the reputation and body of work of an established practice, but its identity no longer communicated the point of view that made the studio distinctive.
The objective was not reinvention. It was to surface the studio’s existing perspective more clearly, then build an identity system capable of holding very different project types without losing authorship or becoming overly expressive.
The existing identity did not reflect the maturity or specificity of the practice
Project presentation varied significantly between digital, proposal, and editorial contexts
The studio lacked a clear system for balancing architectural imagery with its own brand voice

We distilled the studio’s point of view into a more disciplined brand system, defining typography, composition, image behavior, and language rules that could frame the work consistently.
Bringing the strategy into the experience
We distilled the studio’s point of view into a more disciplined brand system, defining typography, composition, image behavior, and language rules that could frame the work consistently. The identity was intentionally restrained so architecture remained the primary visual material while the studio gained a clearer, more recognizable editorial voice.

From inconsistent presentation to a more coherent studio identity
The new system made Atelier North feel more coherent without making the brand louder than the work. Across proposals, digital touchpoints, and project storytelling, the studio could present very different projects through one recognizable point of view and support consideration with greater consistency.
More Than a New Identity
The new system made Atelier North feel more coherent without making the brand louder than the work. Across proposals, digital touchpoints, and project storytelling, the studio could present very different projects through one recognizable point of view and support consideration with greater consistency.
It finally feels like the identity belongs to the practice we have become. The work is still the focus, but now the way we present it has the same level of discipline as the architecture itself.
