Northway Invest
Making a finance product easier to understand, return to, and trust.

Northway Invest had a capable finance product, but the experience asked users to absorb too much complexity before they understood the value.
For a finance product, clarity is part of the product itself. The team needed to reduce cognitive load without making the experience feel simplistic, while giving users stronger reasons to come back after the first successful session.
Core financial concepts were presented with more complexity than new users needed at the moment of decision
Navigation and information hierarchy made recurring actions feel less immediate than one-off exploration
Trust cues, status feedback, and next-step guidance were inconsistent across important product moments

We reorganized the experience around the decisions users make most often, simplified product language, and clarified the relationship between account state, actions, and outcomes.
Bringing the strategy into the experience
We reorganized the experience around the decisions users make most often, simplified product language, and clarified the relationship between account state, actions, and outcomes. Reusable UX patterns brought more consistency to key flows, while navigation and feedback were redesigned to help users understand where they were, what had changed, and what to do next.

From product complexity to a clearer repeat-use rhythm
The work made the product easier to understand on first use and more useful on repeat visits. By reducing friction around recurring behaviors and making system feedback more legible, the experience created a stronger habit loop rather than relying on novelty or feature depth alone.
More Than a Clearer Interface

We had all the right functionality, but users were still working too hard to understand it. The redesign gave the product a much clearer rhythm — people know what matters, what changed, and why they should come back.
